About June

June has worked as a pediatric occupational therapist for six years in school-based, early intervention, and outpatient settings. She earned her BA in sociology and predictive health from Emory University and went on to receive her MS in occupational therapy from Columbia University Medical Center. She is passionate about the intersection of research and intervention and recently completed a second master’s degree in neuroscience and education from Columbia University Teacher’s College. June is dedicated to play-based therapy and incorporates DIRFloortime principles into every session, including following the child’s lead and building on their passions and interests. She has experience with a wide range of treatment approaches and has received formal training in Learning/Handwriting Without Tears, reflex integration, DIRFloortime, Neuro-Developmental Treatment, sensory integration, interoception, and therapeutic listening. Among her certifications are the Evaluation in Ayres Sensory Integration and the Safe and Sound Protocol. Her private practice works with families to secure funding through state-funded programs (early intervention, OPWDD, and the Department of Education) or insurance as an out-of-network provider. She conducts evaluations for the NYS early intervention program, the DOE for school age children, and supervises Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants in home care settings. Previously, she worked as an occupational therapist at Rebecca School, Studio School, Bloom Sensory Gym, and Cooke School and Institute’s summer academy, as well as Imagine Academy as a classroom instructor. June also serves on the advisory board of Complete Playground, New York City’s largest indoor playground and first inclusive family center. She provides training for staff members at day care centers, schools, or after school programs focused on child development, sensory processing, trauma informed care, and respectful play-based practice. She loves building meaningful connections with children, young adults, and their families, and her goal is for clients to leave sessions feeling regulated, confident, and in control of their bodies.
