About June
June has worked as a pediatric occupational therapist for six years in school-based, early intervention, and outpatient settings. She earned her BA in sociology and predictive health from Emory University and went on to receive her MS in occupational therapy from Columbia University Medical Center. She is passionate about the intersection of research and intervention and recently completed a second master’s degree in neuroscience and education from Columbia University Teacher’s College. June is dedicated to play-based therapy and incorporates DIRFloortime principles into every session, including following the child’s lead and building on their passions and interests. She has experience with a wide range of treatment approaches and has received formal training in Learning/Handwriting Without Tears, reflex integration, DIRFloortime, sensory integration, interoception, and therapeutic listening. Among her certifications are the Evaluation in Ayres Sensory Integration and the Safe and Sound Protocol. June currently works part-time as the occupational therapist at Studio School, an inclusive, progressive private school in Manhattan. She also runs a private practice and works with families to secure funding through state-funded programs (early intervention or the Department of Education) or insurance as an out-of-network provider. Previously, she worked at Rebecca School, Bloom Sensory Gym, Cooke School and Institute’s summer academy, and Imagine Academy as a classroom instructor. June also serves on the advisory board of Complete Playground, New York City’s largest indoor playground and first inclusive family center. She loves building meaningful connections with children, young adults, and their families, and her goal is for clients to leave sessions feeling regulated, confident, and in control of their bodies.
